excuses

No Excuses, Only Action

May 14, 20251 min read

Gentlemen,

What's your excuse?

Each week, I commit to going to the gym 2-3 times, with a goal of 3 times per week. There is an ordinary yet extraordinary person I came across there. Every single time I visit, I spot this middle-aged woman, who I believe has a muscular condition, perhaps cerebral palsy or muscular dystrophy.

Despite the challenges she faces with mobility and daily functions, she arrives, accompanied by her support dog, ready to put in work!! Her determination despite her adversity is inspiring.

Her commitment, is a reminder to “shut the fuck up” with my excuses. Also, it helps me overcome whether I "can or can't" do something. Her presence serves as an everyday living reminder, action over excuses. Following the lives of inspiring individuals via media is great and we should all do this, yet the real-life impact of witnessing such determination is unequaled.

Gents, this brings me to our group. A core motivation behind its inception was the belief in the powerful influence of proximity. Engaging frequently with high-achieving gentlemen challenges us, pushes boundaries, and inspires self-growth. So, let's engage in a workout, step outside our comfort zones, and embrace challenges together. If not, - “what's your excuse”?

Looking forward to the continued growth of our collective strength, passion, and ambition!!

Stay Excellent,

Born in the Bronx and raised in Orlando, the author grew up in a financially struggling but loving household led by his mother and grandmother. In his teens, he lost direction—falling into bad influences, identity struggles, and substance abuse—largely due to the absence of a strong male role model. This changed in his mid-20s when he met a mentor who redefined masculinity and personal growth for him. By his 30s, though successful, he still longed for a deeper brotherhood that combined personal development, business, mindset, and fitness. To fill that gap, he co-founded The Association of Excellence, a community where men hold each other accountable and strive for greatness—without gimmicks.
